Ottilie Thornhill

Ottilie Thornhill manages arts and culture projects around the world. A member of Arup, she brings experience of delivering world-class built environment projects for the sector, most recently in Europe, the Middle East and Singapore. Her current work focuses on building knowledge about long term capital investment in cultural spaces, and how the sector can use technology and data to rethink how audiences interact with space and experience.
An ardent early modernist from the age of 7, when her grandmother took her to see an exhibition about Elizabeth I at the Royal Maritime Museum, Ottilie studied early modern language and literature at King’s College London. As a trustee of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, she brings a unique combination of skills focused on Shakespearean literature and how the built environment can better serve people and the planet.
Ottilie’s expertise sits at the intersection of the built environment, digital transformation and storytelling. A regular contributor to conferences and publications, her work shapes the future of arts and culture spaces internationally. Ottilie is passionate about collaboration and sharing knowledge, and produced the Therme Forum on Theatre and Architecture from 2020-2024.
