Debbie Richards

Debbie Richards co-founded international consulting and software company, Baker Richards, which helps cultural organisations realise their commercial potential. An expert in earned income strategy, she has advised cultural and heritage organisations and visitor attractions across the UK, Europe, North America and Australasia, and has spoken at conferences around the world.

Debbie also works on organisational transformation and development, including mergers and acquisitions, employee ownership, business diversification, partnerships and licensing, and board restructuring. She is Chair of the Baker Richards Employee Ownership Trust and a Director of Arts Professional Media, an editorially independent company within the trust group.

Debbie has served on boards in the US and UK spanning commercial companies, membership organisations, not-for-profits and charities. She is Chair of Northern Broadsides, known for its productions including Shakespeare using Northern accents, and a Trustee of Oxford Playhouse. She was previously Vice Chair of Live Cinema UK. Having begun her career marketing and producing theatre in unusual locations, she retains a particular passion for site-specific Shakespeare.

Debbie serves on SBT’s Finance committee and Nominations & Remuneration committee.
