Indi Deol is a media entrepreneur, cultural leader and digital innovator based in Birmingham. He is the Founding Director of DESIblitz, the UK’s leading British Asian online magazine, which he established to address the underrepresentation of British Asian voices, stories and perspectives in mainstream media. Through DESIblitz, Indi has built an influential digital platform reaching audiences in the UK and internationally, spanning news, culture, entertainment, lifestyle and education.
He is also Director of Aidem Digital CIC, a social enterprise that uses digital media, technology and creative practice to support communities, young people and organisations. Its work includes filmmaking, storytelling, digital skills, artificial intelligence, immersive technologies and projects that explore heritage, identity and social issues.
Indi has extensive experience across media, culture, education and the creative industries. He serves on the board and advisory groups of a number of organisations and has worked with universities, cultural institutions, broadcasters and public bodies to support innovation, representation and audience engagement.
A passionate advocate for widening access to culture and ensuring that heritage remains relevant to diverse contemporary audiences, Indi is particularly interested in how digital platforms and emerging technologies can create new ways for people to discover, experience and engage with stories from the past.
As a Trustee of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, Indi brings experience in digital media, audience development, cultural leadership and community engagement. He is committed to supporting the Trust as it continues to preserve and share Shakespeare’s extraordinary legacy with audiences locally, nationally and around the world.
