Energetic full-day drama workshops on your choice of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', 'Macbeth', 'The Tempest', or 'Twelfth Night'.

In this energetic drama workshop children will explore the major themes of their chosen play in a fun and interactive way. Through hands-on access to original artefacts and documents, they will also become immersed in the social and historical context of the play, Shakespeare and his audience.

The day culminates with the children staging an abridged performance using Shakespeare's language, as well as movement and music.

Choosing between A Midsummer Night's Dream, Macbeth, The Tempest or Twelfth Night children will:

  • Explore the major themes of the play in a fun and interactive way
  • Discover the social and historical context of the play, Shakespeare and his audience through access to original artefacts and documents from the Trust's extensive archive
  • Devise scenes from the play, working in small groups
  • Perform an abridged version using original text, movement and music
  • Develop understanding of the narrative and how scenes fit together
  • Immerse themselves in the inspirational Tudor setting of Mary Arden’s Farm.

Full-day, usually 10.00 am to 2.30 pm but adjustments can be made with notice

Cost of workshop:

£13 per child

All accompanying adults are free of charge. Ratio: 1:10

Minimum charge applies based on 25 children (except for SEN groups)
