Sharing Shakespeare's Story

An energetic and interactive workshop telling the story of Shakespeare's life

The sessions are excellent. Great variety, good pace and well-led.

— The Croft Preparatory School

Plunge your class into the Source of William Shakespeare’s earliest inspiration, in the colourful Tudor setting of Mary Arden’s Farm.

Through rhymes, games and storytelling, learn about Shakespeare’s life and then join in a fun and interactive age-appropriate re-telling of one of his most magical plays- either the Tempest or A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

  • Imagine what life was like for Shakespeare as a boy
  • Create their own roles in a fun drama workshop
  • Explore using props and costumes to bring the tales to life
  • Speak rhymes, responses and dialogue
  • Develop ideas for their own magical stories
  • Experience the inside of a real Tudor farmhouse
  • Play drama games to bring characters and ideas to life

By giving genuine experiences to children the visit will promote creativity, writing, speaking and listening opportunities, alongside key history and literacy curriculum triggers.
