Sharing Shakespeare's Story

Through rhymes, games and interactive storytelling, learn about William Shakespeare’s life and then join in a fun, age-appropriate re-telling of one of his most magical plays using a range of artefacts, props and costumes. Play options are either The Tempest or A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Hands-on activities include:

• Imagining what life was like for Shakespeare as a boy
• Creating their own roles in a fun drama workshop
• Exploring props and costumes to bring the tales to life
• Speaking Shakespeare's magical poetic language through rhymes
• Developing ideas for their own enchanting stories
• Experiencing the inside of a real Tudor farmhouse
• Playing drama games to bring his characters and ideas to life

By giving genuine experiences to children the visit will promote creativity, writing, speaking and listening opportunities, alongside key history and literacy curriculum objectives.

Duration:

Full-day, usually 10.00 am to 2.30 pm but adjustments can be made with notice

Alternatively, this can be booked as a half-day activity in combination with the William on the Farm workshop.

Cost of workshop:

£11.50 per child

All accompanying adults are free of charge. Ratio: 1:10

Minimum charge applies based on 25 children (except for SEN groups)
