Event Volunteer

The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust holds a variety of events throughout the year and we would like you to help us deliver them, and get the chance to enjoy the events yourself.

Shakespeare Houses

Garden Host Volunteer

Join our Shakespeare Houses Operations team to talk and engage with our visitors about the garden, house and site within Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, Shakespeare’s Birthplace or Shakespeare’s New Place gardens.

Please note that this is primarily a visitor engagement role based outdoors, not gardening. We will reopen recruitment for Gardens Volunteers in advance of Spring 2025.

Visitor Welcome Volunteer

Join our Shakespeare Houses Operations team to help us create a wonderful experience for our global audiences. This includes welcoming visitors to our sites and engaging in conversation with visitors about the Shakespeare family homes including the gardens and wider grounds.

Learning

Schools' Workshop Volunteer

Join our Learning Team to contribute to the delivery of established and high quality educational programmes for Primary School children (5-11). This includes setting up and packing away the learning spaces, interacting with teachers and pupils, leading small group work and preparing learning resources.
