Corporate Volunteering

Team building with a difference

Help us with some major projects and volunteer for a day!

There are many worthy causes that you could be involved with at the same time as reaping the benefits for your employees.

Develop new skills, promote team building, wellbeing and job satisfaction with our passionate colleagues. These skills could lead to higher employee retention rates and a positive corporate culture. So everyone's a winner!

We offer a range of corporate volunteering opportunities, which are available for small and large groups as 'one off' day projects.

"The variety of activities was a real surprise - apple picking, leaf clearing, bulb planting and more! Everything was well organised but also flexible to the preferences of the group. The Gardens team were welcoming, friendly and grateful of our time. The day was full of laughter, sharing life experiences and getting to know colleagues better... all whilst giving a little bit back to a local cultural asset."

A typical project will have the following parameters:

  1. Projects last for one day 9.00am - 3.00pm
  2. Takes place Mondays to Fridays, typically between March and October
  3. We can host a maximum of 15 people per day
  4. We ask you to read and sign our risk assessment, including a site visit in advance of the project day, and agree to our Health and Safety Policies. Please allow 1-2 months for this process from the point of enquiry.
  5. Usually involved with our Gardens team (based at Anne Hathaway's Cottage) or Farm team (based at Mary Arden's Farm)
  6. You will have fun on the task at hand!

Please note that tasks are subject to availability depending on the season and weather conditions. If you cancel your visit at the last minute we may not be able to guarantee you another date, unless it is due to extreme weather or another unforeseeable circumstance.

1040 hours of corporate volunteering were given to the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust in 2025

Corporate volunteering visits are free of charge and are recognised as a valuable gift-in-kind contribution to our charity. We also invite participants to make a suggested donation of £10 per person to help us preserve Shakespeare’s heritage and enable people of all ages to engage with his life, works and legacy.
