  • Hall's Croft conservation programme formally launched

October 2025

  • External vehicle collision highlights the vulnerability of historic buildings
  • Insurance repairs initiated and additional repairs incorporated into the wider conservation programme

November 2025: Launch of Public Appeal

  • Public fundraising campaign launches : A House For All Time
  • Adopt-a-Beam initiative opens
  • First public fundraising milestone set at £500,000

Spring 2026 : Heritage at Risk Recognition

  • Hall's Croft added to Historic England's Heritage at Risk Register
  • National recognition of the urgency and significance of the conservation challenge

2026 - 2027: Planning and Conservation Development

  • Detailed investigations and surveys continue
  • Design development and statutory permissions secured
  • Fundraising and partnership support expanded
  • Conservation planning for the next stage of works

2027 Onwards: Major Conservation Works

  • Conservation of remaining external elevations
  • Structural timber and repairs replacement
  • Environmental and drainage improvements
  • Preparation for future reopening

Long-Term Vision
