Working at SBT

Proud to be a fantastic place to work

The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust has a commitment to being a responsible employer, offering opportunities for all those who work and volunteer for us and are committed to encouraging equality and diversity amongst our work force, volunteers and Trustee Board. We have excellent training and development programmes for all of our team members and in 2017 provided over 2,000 hours of HR and health & safety training. Over 40 of our managers have been awarded a nationally recognised qualification from the Institute of Leadership and Management.

We are proud to have been listed in the Times Top 100 Not for Profit organisations to work for in 3 of the last 4 years. The last twelve months have also seen a focus on Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) with the introduction of a new policy, a charter, an EDI forum and most importantly a four-year action plan, giving us targets for the future. 2018 will see the entire workforce trained in the basics of EDI and some individuals further trained in Unconscious Bias. In 2016 we were announced as Warwickshire Employer of the year by Plus One Personnel, as well as being presented with a commitment to employment award.

We are also delighted to have joined the 5% club - a dynamic movement of employers focused on creating momentum behind the recruitment of apprentices. By joining the 5% club we strive to achieve 5% of our workforce working in "earn and learn" positions (apprentices, interns and graduates) within 5 years of joining.

Now is a great time to join the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust - we look forward to welcoming you!
