Shakespeare Week 2024

18 – 24 March 2024

Join us as we celebrate 10 years of Shakespeare Week from 18 to 24 March 2024.

This year, celebrations are set to be even bigger as we host a vibrant programme of events and activities that are inspired by the women in Shakespeare’s life.

From workshops to digital celebrations, discover a series of unmissable events in Stratford-upon-Avon and online for Shakespeare Week 2024 as we mark this significant milestone.

Here’s What’s On:

Monday 18 March, 11am: Online Assembly

To launch celebrations, there will be a Shakespeare Week online assembly, filmed at Mary Arden’s Farm with Ben Cajee, a presenter on CBeebies and CBBC and the infamous William Shakespeare puppet.

Monday 18 March to Friday 22 March: Early Years Shakespeare Sessions with Warwickshire Libraries

Attendees can expect a fun-filled session of storytelling, arts, crafts, music and dance with an exciting Shakespearian twist.

Tuesday 19 to Friday 22 March,11am: Daily online broadcasts exploring Shakespeare’s Language with Michael Rosen

  • Tuesday 19 March, 11am: ‘What’s so special about Shakespeare’s language?’ with Michael Rosen, workshop 1.
  • Wednesday 20 March, 11am: ‘What’s so special about Shakespeare’s language?’ with Michael Rosen, workshop 2.
  • Thursday 21 March, 11am: ‘What’s so special about Shakespeare’s language?’ with Michael Rosen, workshop 3.
  • Friday 22 March, 11am: ‘What’s so special about Shakespeare’s language?’ with Michael Rosen, workshop 4.

Wednesday 20 March, 2pm: Sketchbook Showcase with Martin Brown

Martin Brown returns with a broadcast for all schools to tune in to. His sketchbook showcase focuses on Mary Arden and life on a Tudor Farm.

Available Now: Shakespeare’s Family in Nine Objects online exhibition

An interactive online exhibition that links nine members of Shakespeare’s family to nine objects from our collection.

The exhibition includes videos that imagine the lives of Anne Hathaway and Mary Arden as well as many activities, resources and a fabulous diary writing competition.

Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 March: Shakespeare Weekend

A free festival of events, activities, workshops and performances on Henley Street, outside of Shakespeare’s Birthplace, including Circus Mash, Ascension Dance and more.
