Hall’s Croft Platform Tours

Your chance to find out about the conservation work taking place at Hall’s Croft

Join a tour to discover the conservation work taking place at Hall's Croft

Join us on selected Friday afternoons across the summer for a rare behind-the-scenes opportunity to experience the conservation of Hall’s Croft, the historic home of Shakespeare’s eldest daughter, Susanna Shakespeare Hall.

Hall’s Croft is now on Historic England’s Heritage at Risk Register, and urgent conservation work is underway to help safeguard this internationally significant building for the future. These special tours led by our passionate volunteers offer a unique opportunity to step behind the scenes of a major heritage restoration project, with exclusive access to a viewing platform overlooking the conservation work in progress. Visitors will also discover the fascinating history of Hall’s Croft and the many people connected to the building over more than 400 years.

Tours will take place during the summer as follows:

  • Friday 26 June, 13.30 and 14.30
  • Friday 10 July, 13.30 and 14.30
  • Friday 24 July, 13.30 and 14.30
  • Friday 7 August, 13.30 and 14.30
  • Friday 21 August, 13.30 and 14.30

Tickets cost £5 per person, with all proceeds directly supporting the conservation work visitors will see during the tour. However, significant additional funding is still urgently needed to help secure the future of Hall’s Croft, and additional donations towards this vital restoration project are greatly welcomed. Every contribution, large or small, will help protect and preserve an irreplaceable part of Shakespeare’s legacy.

Pre-booking is essential. Tickets are now available to book.

Accessibility: The platform is accessed via steps. If you require a step-free option, please contact [email protected] in advance to arrange a garden-based talk with visual aids.
