Join us at Mary Arden’s Farm this summer for a series of special community events that promise fun for all the family.
19 & 26 July and 16 & 23 August 2025 11am to 3pm (last entry 2.30pm)
You'll have the opportunity to explore the farm, with a guided tour of Palmer’s Farmhouse, and see our collection of heritage breed animals. You and your family will be able to witness some traditional crafts in action.
Our friends from the Arts Rising Collective, based at the newly opened Brook Arts Hub, will host creative spaces where visitors can witness some of what you can expect to see, and be part of, at the Hub.
You can also speak to members of the SBT volunteering team and discover what opportunities are available across the Trust, as well as the benefits of becoming a volunteer.
Visitors can bring a picnic with them to enjoy during their visit but as a working farm we do ask that all food and drink is consumed within the designated picnic areas only using picnic benches.
There will also be a selection of refreshments, including hot and cold drinks, crisps, cakes, ice cream and snacks available to purchase, thanks to Horse Cart Hospitality. They will be located in the main car park where picnic tables and benches will be provided.
As most of the activities take place outside with only some under cover, visitors are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear and clothing for changeable weather conditions and a farm setting. There is not much shade on the site, so we would ask visitors to prepare for the heat by bringing a hat and wearing a suitable factor of sun cream. We will have cold drinks available to buy and there is a place for you to refill your water bottles.
We are excited to welcome visitors to our Community Events at Mary Arden’s Farm. To minimise the impact on local residents and to ensure a smooth and safe experience for everyone, please take note of the following parking information:
- Parking is very limited at Mary Arden’s Farm so please consider walking, using public transport or car sharing where possible
- Please do not park in the street or areas that are marked as no parking
- Accessible parking is available near the entrance. Please display your blue badge.

Your Support
As part of our commitment to ensuring that these much-loved properties remain at the heart of their communities, the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is offering these events free of charge so that as many people as possible can take advantage and experience these special spaces for themselves.
By supporting this event you are helping to preserve the Shakespeare family homes for future generations.
You can donate during your visit to Mary Arden’s Farm or donate online today. Any amount donated is greatly appreciated and helps support the conservation work of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, including at Mary Arden’s Farm.
