Group Booking Terms

Terms applying to group bookings for Shakespeare's family homes

Terms and Conditions - 2022/23

These terms and conditions are applicable to any and all advance bookings for the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust (SBT). This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Visits to the Shakespeare houses and gardens
  • Online ticketed events

Once your visit is booked and confirmed to you via email, it is fully subject to these terms and conditions.

Booking Procedure:

All bookings for visits in person to any of the Shakespeare family homes and gardens must be booked, confirmed, and paid for in advance of the visit date. There is a strictly limited number of tickets available in pre-designated time slots for each visit date, and these are in line with the current safety measures as set out by the UK government in keeping with the health and safety requirements.

Bookings are to be made via email or phone, and will be confirmed from the appropriate department with a provisional invoice. Bookings can be made up to a year in advance, but must be reconfirmed and all details of the booking finalised no later than 7 days (one week) before the visit date. Payment required is based on these confirmed numbers.

Once your visit is booked and confirmed to you via email, it is fully subject to these terms and conditions.

All visits are subject to the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust (SBT) Terms of Entry https://www.shakespeare.org.uk/terms-conditions/terms-entry/

Payment:

Your booking confirmation email will have your invoice attached.

Please ensure that the relevant person has received this invoice, and that the payment is made by the due date by the method stated on the invoice. We reserve the right to charge interest in accordance with The Late Payment of Commercial Debts (interest) Act 1998 and therefore any payments received after the specified payment date are subject to these additional interest fees.

In the unlikely event that your payment is late, you will be chased by our finance team and no further bookings will be made for you, your school or organisation until any outstanding invoices are settled and paid.

We retain the right to cancel, or refuse entry, if payment is not made on time.

Changes to visit/Cancellations:

Your deadline for amendments and cancellations to the booking is 7 days (one week) prior to the visit date, and the invoice will be issued based on the information recorded on the booking at that time. If any changes or cancellations need to be made to your booking, you must inform us of this information before the 7 day deadline. If you inform us of any reduction in numbers or cancellations after this date you will not be refunded any payment that has been made as the allocation for the visit has already been confirmed.

Shakespeare Birthplace Trust (SBT) reserves the right to cancel bookings at any time and will endeavour to give as much notice as possible should this occur. If this happens, the SBT is only responsible for issuing a refund for the booking payment, while any other costs incurred around your visit are at your own risk.

We regret that no refunds can be given for cancellations or changes to bookings made less than 7 days in advance of your visit; this includes non-arrivals on the day of the visit itself.

Gardens, site exhibitions and elements of the visitor offer are subject to last minute changes, and we cannot give refunds for such unexpected events.

SBT retain the right to adjust prices during this period should circumstances dictate.

Coronavirus (COVID-19):

We will accept amendments to your visit date during 2022/23 should you be affected by a local lockdown or other government decision related to Covid-19. You must notify us in writing prior to your visit date, and you will receive a credit for the visit which may then be rescheduled within the 2022/23 financial year.
