Shakespeare's Singing Advent Calendar - December 23rd

Join in with the Shakespearean festivities on the twenty-third day of advent

Katie Neville

The penultimate song on Shakespeare’s Singing Advent Calendar features a sharp bang to the head and a surprise appearance by some robins. The character of Feste in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night sings this seasonal ditty – ‘Hey Robin, Jolly Robin’ – and here it is brought to life by the resident musical genius of Shakespeare’s Birthplace, actor Martin Smith. Robin handling is undertaken by Tim Dye, Manager of the Shakespeare Birthplace gift shop, who would be delighted to sell you these very robins to add the finishing touch to your Christmas tree.
