Tudors Alive for Home Educator Families

Informative, interactive and inspirational hands-on activities

This history workshop gives home educated children a unique opportunity to spend the day as a Tudor child at the home of William Shakespeare’s mother.

Using authentic clothing and materials the hands on activities include:

  • Learning how the Tudors dressed
  • Making lavender bags to ward off the plague
  • Mixing wattle and daub
  • Painting a wall-hanging
  • Designing sugar subtleties for an Elizabethan feast
  • Observing a butter making demonstration
  • Enjoying Tudor music and dancing
  • Exploring the Tudor house and meeting the rare breed animals on the farm.

Please note this session is suitable for children aged 6 to 12 only.

Each child must have a nominated adult present with them during the workshop, with a maximum of 4 children per adult.

Places on the workshop are limited due to capacity at the farm and payments are non-refundable, so please make sure you are definitely able to attend before booking.

It is subject to minimum number requirements, and could be cancelled if these numbers are not reached.
