Explore sustainability in action at Shakespeare’s New Place

You’re invited to explore sustainability in action as Shakespeare’s New Place plays host to the launch of Stratford-upon-Avon’s Great Big Green Week 2024.

This is your chance to explore the beautiful surroundings of the Great Garden and discover and celebrate the action being undertaken by local and regional groups and organisations to tackle climate change and protect our natural environment, including the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust’s Sustainable Shakespeare' initiative.

Come along and enjoy a lineup of thought-provoking activities by partner organisations, including Stratford Climate Action, Stratford Wildlife Friends, Act on Energy and Net Zero Stratford. We will also be hosting two volunteers from Stratford’s Repair Café will also be on hand during the day to carry out bike repairs and hand sew any garments that need mending.

Out retail team will also be there and will be showcasing a range of beautiful sustainable products crafted from local resources and its gardens team will also be on hand to share what they are doing to improve sustainability and biodiversity across all of Shakespeare’s family homes, and to offer helpful tips and advice.

That’s not all - whilst soaking in the atmosphere, you can enjoy live acoustic music from a local band and get your picture taken with a pair of tree stilt walkers who will be making a special appearance during the day.


Access to the event and the Great Garden is free of charge.
A Shakespeare's Story Ticket or Shakespeare's New Place Ticket will be required to access the Hidden Voices Exhibition.
