October Half Term

at Shakespeare's family homes

Enjoy a whole week of half term fun with hands on activities!

Activities take place from 12-4pm, unless otherwise stated and are included in general admission. So if you already have a valid pass you can come along for free!

Shakespeare's Birthplace

Over Throne, from 10am
Losing your head in the run up to half term?

So many of Shakespeare's rulers have ended up losing their throne, their crown, or even their lives! Travel through time this half term and learn the stories behind some of Shakespeare's most famous ousted monarchs; Caesar, Cleopatra and Richard III to name a few! As you journey through Shakespeare's Birthplace, you will learn how some rulers lost their crown, and others their heads as well!

See costumes from past Royal Shakespeare Company performances, and have your photo taken sitting on our throne before deciding the fate of these unruly monarchs yourself.

Would you make a good leader, or would you end up Over Throne?

Shakespeare’s New Place

Ghostly goings on, from 12pm
Create your own crown or laurel wreath in honour of two of Shakespeare’s famous ghosts, Old Hamlet and Julius Caesar, or write a ghost story in a cartoon format using supernatural activity in Shakespeare’s plays as your inspiration.

Anne Hathaway’s Cottage

Hubble Bubble, from 10am
Head through our sculpture garden and follow our plant trail to find the ingredients that went into potions in the 1600s.

Mary Arden’s Farm

Pumpkin Carving, from 12pm

Join us in the Falconers Field and get creative as you carve a spooky pumpkin ready for Halloween. Small additional charge applies (depending on the size of the pumpkin!).

Haunted Halloween Hunt, from 10am
Enjoy a haunted Halloween hunt through the woods. Can you find all of the spooky characters which are hiding? There's a Halloween sticker up for grabs if you dare!
