Heritage Open Days

Free pop up exhibition at the Shakespeare Centre

Free pop up exhibition at the Shakespeare Centre

Join us for this year's Heritage Open Days, exploring the stories of women in our world-class collection.

This year we are exploring the stories of women in Stratford-upon-Avon, the local area and in Shakespeare's plays through the treasures in our world-class library, archive and museum collection.

Our free pop-up exhibition will explore the lives of women from six centuries, from Shakespeare's time to Stratford's suffragettes and beyond.  So join us to see items not normally on display from early printed books to theatre ephemera.

Plus, you are welcome to have a go at our craft activities or to visit our ever popular Tudor dress-up corner.provided by our Heritage Education Team.  Suitable for visitors aged 3 upwards, we suspect that many of our adult visitors might also want to join in!

Location: The Shakespeare Centre, Henley Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 6QW.

You might also be interested in a film screening of 'Suffragette' at the Shakespeare Centre on 29 June, celebrating the equal right to vote.
