The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust have invited entrants to Shakespeare Shorts 2025 competition to submits films inspired by the life, works, and times of William Shakespeare with a renewed focus on our multi-year theme, The Women Who Made Shakespeare.

We were delighted to receive over 150 entries from filmmakers of all ages across the globe. Your submissions to Shakespeare Shorts are truly a testament to the legacy of William Shakespeare, and his ability to continue inspire and encourage creativity for generations past, present, and future.

We are grateful to Patron Lolita Chakrabarti and long-standing supporter and Patron Sir Kenneth Branagh who will select our overall winner of the competition. We will announce our overall winner in Spring 2026, and please check back for more information!
