We were astonished and honoured to receive a surprise visit from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth I today!
As you all may know, she is given to suddenly descending upon her subjects to determine for herself their well being and obedience to her laws. This was all the more important as Thursday 20 March was a fish day in the period of Lent.
Master Palmer was overwhelmed by the great favour she bestowed on him by partaking of the household's midday meal.
We are told she greatly enjoyed the food and declared it the finest in Warwickshire!
