New Place Exhibition
Meet the man behind the works in our fascinating exhibition at Shakespeare’s New Place.
A major exhibition in the neighbouring Grade I Tudor building will reveal the history of New Place and more about the life of its most famous owner, William Shakespeare. Items found during archaeological investigations on the site will be on display, along with objects from our collections that reveal more about what life at New Place would have been like for Shakespeare and his family.
Many of these items will be on display for the first time. The exhibition will create a picture of Shakespeare the man – father, husband and businessman, as well as playwright – and demonstrate his enduring influence as a source of creativity across the world.
