The women in Shakespeare’s life and works take centre stage in a series of fascinating talks and workshops

Activities take place from 12 pm-4 pm, unless otherwise stated, and are included in general admission. So if you already have a valid pass you can come along for free!

Anne Hathaway is Home
ANNE HATHAWAY’S COTTAGE, EVERY WEEKEND IN NOVEMBER, 12pm - 4pm
Drop into Anne Hathaway’s Cottage any weekend in November and enjoy the rare opportunity to find Anne back in residence, holding court in the kitchen and sharing tales of life as a Tudor woman at home.

Mary Arden - Town & Country 
SHAKESPEARE’S BIRTHPLACE, 26 NOVEMBER, 12pm - 4pm
How did Mary’s life change from growing up in the countryside to moving to town and embarking on married life with John Shakespeare? An interactive talk with Mary Arden’s Farm house steward Samantha Gull and Shakespeare's Birthplace house steward Emily Ireson.

A Woman's Work is Never Done
SHAKESPEARE’S BIRTHPLACE, EVERY SATURDAY IN NOVEMBER, 11am
Hear all about the sort of work that women were expected to carry out in Shakespeare's time. From farming to raising children, brewing beer to baking bread. In Tudor England a woman's work was truly never done!

Armistice Day
HALL'S CROFT, 11 NOVEMBER, 11:02am - 4pm
Come and make poppies at Hall's Croft to commemorate 100 years since the end of World War I. For Armistice day we will be holding a talk about 'The Shakespeare Hut' in WWI.

In this thought-provoking exhibition Carrie shares a radical perspective on Anne Hathaway.

Visit Anne Hathaway's cottage when all the visitors have gone home and enjoy an intimate guided tour with Katherine Scheil, author of Imagining Shakespeare's Wife, and house steward Emily White.

Female performers from our very own Shakespeare Aloud! acting troupe perform iconic speeches from traditionally male characters.
