Celebrate Shakespeare’s birthday in his hometown of Stratford

Join us in Stratford-upon-Avon for a day of live performances, crafts and cake!

Henley Street

10.00am - 4.00pm: Community Performances
Catch the best our talented local community has to offer, from singing groups to Morris dancers. Many groups are looking for new members - you might leave with a new hobby!

10.00am - 4.00pm: Find Your Creative
Our birthday celebrations fall on World Creativity Day - come and try your hand at junk music, circus skills, balloon sculpting, and celebrate your inner creativity.

Stratford-upon-Avon

10.15am - 12.00pm: Birthday Parade
The Birthday procession moves through Waterside, Bridge Street, High Street, Henley Street, and ends at Holy Trinity Church. Follow the colourful parade through Shakespeare’s hometown right on to Henley Street. Look out for flags from all over the world and even an appearance from the man himself!

Hall's Croft

12.00 - 4.00pm: Knights and Nymphs Party
Enjoy free entry to our carnival party in the beautiful walled garden of Hall’s Croft. See you there for face-painting, dressing up, a BBQ, lavender shortbread, and sparkling wine.

Shakespeare’s Family Homes

9.00am - 5.00pm: Cake for all

Enjoy a free slice of Shakespeare's birthday cake at one of his five family homes (while stocks last!). 

Free entry to Shakespeare’s Family Homes on Saturday 21 April for all CV37 residence (with proof of address).
