'Shakespeare Connected' Conference

Saturday 14 April

A showcase of current research

The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust has been establishing a new network of universities to produce on-line exhibitions based on our own collections and archives, and giving insights into current research projects. Come and find out more at this action-packed one-day conference.

Hear from Shakespearians, archaeologists, and historians from the universities of Birmingham, Birmingham City, Cambridge, Leicester, Nottingham, Nottingham Trent, Oxford, The Open University, Staffordshire, and York. Topics include 'Shakespeare and Literary Pilgrimage’, 'The Faith of William Shakespeare', ‘Digging Up New Place’, 'The Interior of New Place', ‘Visualising Shakespeare’s Nature’, ‘Telling the Time in Shakespeare’s England’, ‘Our German Shakespeare!’, ‘Shakespeare’s Guild Chapel’, ‘Shakespeare and Religious War’, ‘Not to Be: Death in the Collections’, and more.

Some of the artefacts they’ve curated as part of their own research stories will be on display, and perhaps you’ll be inspired to make some Shakespearian connections of your own.
