The Shakespeare Birthday Lecture

Shakespeare's life portrait in Holy Trinity Church

Co-presented with The Shakespeare Institute, University of Birmingham

This year's Shakespeare Birthday Lecture will be presented online for the first time, with new and important research exploring what Shakespeare looked like and the kind of man he was.

Join Shakespeare historian Professor Lena Orlin as she tells us about her groundbreaking research exploring Shakespeare's funerary monument in Holy Trinity Church.

Professor Lena Orlin is an internationally renowned Shakespeare expert. Her research means that she can ask an original and important question: does the monument represent Shakespeare the way he himself wanted to be remembered?

The Shakespeare Birthday Lecture is led by Professor Lena Orlin, Georgetown University, and trustee of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.

Tickets are priced at £5 and advanced booking is advised due to limited capacity.

The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is a registered charity and money raised through events like this help support our work and keep Shakespeare's story alive. Please consider adding a top up donation. Thank you for your support.
