Makaton Monday

Let's talk Makaton

Shakespeare New Place, now a Makaton friendly venue, is proud to offer Makaton Monday sessions on the first Monday of every month.

The sessions take place from 11-11.30am and are based around the nursery rhymes on display in our exhibition, including Three Blind Mice, Oranges and Lemons, Hard Hark the Dogs do Bark and Little Bo peep.  There'll be plenty of hands on activity as we encourage visitors to sing along and feel materials that link to the songs.

Upcoming sessions:

Monday 4 June
Monday 2 July
Monday 6 August
Monday 3 September
Monday 1 October
Monday 5 November
Monday 3 December

The sessions are free and there's no need to pre-book.  They suitable for all ages but our sessions are tailored for children.

Makaton is a language programme using signs and symbols to help people communicate.  Today, over 100,000 people use Makaton symbols and signs, either as their main method of communication or as a way to support speech.

The Makaton Monday sessions are not just for people who use Makaton every day - they can be enjoyed by everyone!  We looks forward to welcoming you.
