I Never Liked Shakespeare

Roy McFarlane joins acting company Shakespeare Aloud!

Don’t think Shakespeare is for you?

It’s time to give the Bard a good dressing down for all the headaches he has caused over the years.

Our in-house acting troupe Shakespeare Aloud! and award-winning poet Roy McFarlane Birmingham Poet Laureate 2010/2011 are taking an irreverent jaunt through Shakespeare's most loved works this May Bank Holiday Weekend.

If you have never understood what all the fuss was about with a man in a ruff holding a feather, prepare for a spectacle that will amuse, bemuse, and amaze the biggest Shakespeare sceptics. There are puns, poetry, politics, and even a song to close.

Don't miss the brand new performance, debuting at Shakespeare's Birthplace on May 25, 26, and 27, before making a triumphant return for the Stratford-upon-Avon Poetry Fest '19, on June 15 and 16.

Performances will take place throughout the day.
