Excavating the Collection

Collections Talk and Cream Tea

Delve into our collection of local archaeology and archaeological treasures in our museum and archives.

Did you know that the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust cares for a collection of local archaeology? This varied collection includes a wide range of objects from Prehistoric, Roman and Anglo-Saxon artefacts to finds from Shakespeare’s times.

Find out more about the new project our Collections department is undertaking to re investigate the archaeological treasures in our museum and archives. Come and hear an introduction to the archaeology collection, learn more about the history of the Stratford District through its material culture, and see some of the stars of this exciting collection for yourself!

Taking place in our historic Conference Room at the Shakespeare Centre, the talk will be followed by a cream tea in the Marble Hall overlooking the garden of Shakespeare's Birthplace.

The talk starts at 2pm and will be followed by the cream tea at 3.10pm.

The event takes place at the Shakespeare Centre, Henley Street, Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 6QW.

Tickets: £14 per person / Friends £10

Booking closes on Thursday 13 February.
