Plenty to keep the children entertained this summer
Throughout the summer holidays (23 July - 4 September) there will be plenty of extra activities happening at Shakespeare's family homes, which are free and included in your admission. Here's what you can look forward to:
Sword school (Mondays and Saturdays, hourly)– Come and try your hand at sword fighting in the gardens at Shakespeare’s Birthplace.
The Handlebars (Fridays, 10am - 4pm) – Enjoy live Tudor music performed on replica Tudor instruments by The Handlebars in the gardens.
The Handlebars (Tuesdays, 10am - 4pm) – Enjoy live Tudor music performed on replica Tudor instruments by The Handlebars in the gardens.
Nature trails (Daily, 10am-4pm) - Follow clues around the site and learn about the flora and fauna we have today that Anne Hathaway and her family would also have known. Answer the final clue for a small prize from our gift shop.
Storytelling workshops and activities (Fridays, 29 July, 12 & 19 August, three sessions each day)
What story can you tell with a handful of clues and props? Come along and have a go at storytelling with professional storyteller Pyn Stockman at the site, where Shakespeare lived with his family for 19 years, and where he wrote some of his most famous plays.
