Christmas at Anne Hathaway's Cottage

We look forward to welcoming you this winter

This winter at Anne Hathaway's Cottage we are preparing for Christmas with a feast and a visit from the lady herself! Are you as excited as we are?

Preparations for the Feast
16 November – 24 November, 12-4pm

See Christmas preparations in full swing at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage.

Food has always been hugely important on the big day, and the Cottage was no different. Come and see what’s being prepared in the kitchen, which will be filled with wonderful smells and tastes of Tudor fayre.

Get up and close with some of the items on the table, smell the spice mixes favoured at the time and take home some recipe ideas to try at home during your own Christmas preparations. You might even get the chance to taste!

Meet Anne and Bartholomew
Every Friday, Sat and Sun in December, 12-4pm

Who will host Christmas this year?

Anne Shakespeare and her brother Bartholomew return to the Cottage to discuss who will host the family Christmas this year. Will it be the traditional cottage in the country, or a fancy town Christmas at Anne and William’s New Place, the second largest house in Stratford?

Come and meet Anne and Bartholomew as they sit at the kitchen table, eating and deciding who should host Christmas. Perhaps you can help them decide, and if you’re lucky, they might invite you to try taste some traditional Tudor fayre!
