Art at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage

with graphic designer and artist, Sophie Clausen

A practical workshop lead by artist Sophie Clausen

When the crowds have left and our beautiful buildings are quiet, we invite you to try something different. Sample a wide range of specially programmed talks and workshops 'After Hours'.

Drawing inspiration from the abundance of autumnal flowers and plants at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, this workshop will look at how to transform a watercolour painting into an unusual collage.

The workshop will begin with the use of pencil and watercolour, then explore how to use scissors to enhance the  placement of painted objects, such as flowers and plants, onto a different background. The workshop will also address colour schemes, composition and collage techniques. Watercolour, scissors, glue and paper will be available, but please bring anything you find interesting for a collage, such as paper or your own watercolour set if you have one.

Suitable for all from beginners onwards. This fun hands on workshop will help you create beautiful artwork inspired by Anne Hathaway’s cottage

The workshop is taught by artist Sophie Clausen, who holds an MA in Fine Art. Sophie recently taught a Collage and Mixed Media course in Stratford upon Avon.
