Apple Days

Apple themed fun for all the family

Join our Michaelmas celebrations at Mary Arden's Farm!

Join us for apple themed games and cooking displays for the whole family as we celebrate the end of the harvest at our Michaelmas fair.

Experience the hustle and bustle of a 16th century hiring fair as you meet Tudor characters and learn about their professions.

  • Celebrate the bounties of the harvest at our apple display, apple juice and cider bar.
  • Enjoy Tudor cooking demonstrations with apple recipes to take home with you
  • Join in with our Tudor dancing
  • Meet the Tudors giving demonstrations of traditional skills at our hiring fair

*Bring your surplus apples and make them into juice using our apple press. Don’t forget to bring a container for your juice. Donations welcome!*

Michaelmas marks the end of the fishing season and the beginning of the hunting season. It was the time to pick apples and make cider and was one of the 'quarter days' when the Tudors would settle rents and accounts.

Normal admission applies, so if you're already a valid ticket holder you can come and join in for free!
