The Activity Tent

lots of fun and activities for all ages

Activity Tent

The Activity Tent, set in the beautiful gardens at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, is back by popular demand!

Open 12 - 4pm  from Saturday 23 March – Sunday 3 November 2019
(weekends, bank holidays & school holidays only)

All of the activities for 2019 are brand new and themed around some of Shakespeare’s most popular plays: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet and The Tempest. Enjoy our new play theme with games, quests, crafts and other hands-on activities for all ages.

  • Make your own magical staff for Prospero, a carnival mask to wear to Romeo and Juliet’s ball, a fairy from A Midsummer Night’s Dream or a miniature raft to journey to the ‘isle of noises.’
  • Curl up with a book in our storytelling area or share Shakespeare’s plays with a friend.
  • Try your hand at brass rubbing and create one of the beasties from Titania’s lullaby, the ship from The Tempest or maybe even Shakespeare himself!
  • Discover some of Shakespeare’s Forgotten words and weave your favourites into our installation.
  • Use our fabulous range of instruments to create your very own Shakespeare Soundscape.
  • Dress up and take to the stage as a character from A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Activity Tent

There’s always something new to try in the marquee - hands-on, interactive activities are added throughout the year. The marquee is engaging for young and old alike. Families often spend as long as 2 hours in the marquee trying out all of the activities and all crafty creations can be taken home!

Don't take our word for it.....

"Lots of activities for different ages and interest. Super, high energy staff. Thank you"

"My daughter’s curiosity has been catered for! She has enjoyed being in such a stimulating environment"

"Both my children were fully engaged with the activities. A fantastic day out"

We look forward to welcoming you to the NEW Activity Tent soon!
