Caring for the Collections

Support the future of one of the greatest Shakespeare collections in the world

With support from our visitors and donors we care for the world’s largest collection of Shakespeare-related materials available to the public, including the only surviving letter written to Shakespeare, three First Folios and the archive of the Royal Shakespeare Company, amongst many other treasures.

Caring for our Collections in the archives and whilst on display to the public is a huge privilege and responsibility. Please support the future of one of the greatest Shakespeare collections in the world.

Support the conservation and repair of over 2,500 early printed and rare books and documents:
£15 could catalogue an early printed book noting condition and marginalia
£50 could pay for a specialist assessment of a rare book or document
£250 could go towards the repair of a rare book

Help us maintain ideal display conditions so we can continue to share our Collections with visitors:
£35 could pay for an hour’s specialist onsite conservation
£160 could pay for a tiny tag environmental monitor
£7,000 could pay for UV filters on all the windows at one house
