Delia Garratt

Director of Cultural Engagement

Dr Delia Garratt leads aspects of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust’s cultural programme on-site in Stratford-upon-Avon, as well as nationally and internationally. She is responsible for leading collections, learning, research, digital and creative programming. Cultural Engagement aims to inspire a life-long passion for Shakespeare by building the Trust’s knowledge and expertise about Shakespeare’s work, life and times, as well as his enduring global legacy. Delia's team is responsible for sharing this with visitors and audiences through the Trust’s many and varied programmes. These include supporting the presentation of the Trust’s five Shakespeare houses, the delivery of exhibitions and events, and award winning learning courses.

Previous roles include Museums and Communities Manager at Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council and Collections Development Officer (later Head of Collections) at the National Waterways Museums.  She received her doctorate from the University of Leicester in 2002.
