Poetry for Amnesty

Malawian poet, Jack Mapanje, reads from his work and is joined by stage and screen actor, Jane Lapotaire who will read poems related to the Amnesty themes of freedom and social justice.

Bilimankhwe Arts are a UK and Malawi based theatre company who have worked with Jack Mapanje. Their production of And Crocodiles Are Hungry At Night will be given its UK premiere as part of this evening's event. They are able to appear in part due to the generous support of Felix Dennis.

In association with Amnesty International UK group Stratford-upon-Avon (http://www2.amnesty.org.uk/groups/stratford-avon) Some of the proceeds of the evening will help support the work of Amnesty International UK.

Venue: Queen Elizabeth Hall, The Shakespeare Centre, Henley Street. 7.00pm.
