In our diamond year, we are especially conscious of time moving by and this evening is devoted to poetry reflecting human experiences of day and night.

Opening with John Donne's The Sunne Rising, it continues with the work of a wide variety of poets including Betjeman, Gray, Coleridge, Larkin and WS Gilbert, taking a break at lunchtime in the company of Christopher Reid.

The programme is devised by Paul Jesson who will be joined by actor David Bradley and the poet, actress and playwright Michaela Coel.

Venue: Queen Elizabeth Hall, The Shakespeare Centre, Henley Street, 7.30pm
