Jubilee Diamond prize draw

Anne Hathaway’s Cottage is offering visitors a chance in a lifetime opportunity to win a diamond and have it set into a bespoke piece of jewellery worth £2,500.

01 June 2012

The Cottage where Shakespeare wooed his future wife is one of the world’s most famous romantic destinations, so the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust has teamed up with specialist wedding & engagement jeweller Mitchel & Co to run the extraordinary prize draw to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee this month.

The prize is a 0.50 ct brilliant cut certified diamond which will be hand-crafted into an item of 18ct gold jewellery to a design of the winner’s choice.

Based in Birmingham’s famous Jewellery Quarter, the UK’s largest jewellery manufacturing centre, Mitchel & Co is an independent family-run jeweller specialising in exquisite diamonds, precious metals and pearls, and setting them into unique designs on site. Mitchel is a fully qualified diamond grader with the Diamond High Council, Antwerp, and individually selects every diamond.  He is also an expert manufacturer with a highly qualified team of gemologists and diamond graders using the latest techniques to create exclusive designs of unparalleled craftsmanship.  All of Mitchel & Co’s diamond jewellery is offered only with the most trusted diamond certificates, including GIA, HRD and IGI.

Abi Moore, manager at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage said, “We wanted to do something out of the ordinary to mark the Jubilee that was also in keeping with the romance of this place.  We are thrilled that Mitchell & Co have agreed to create a bespoke prize jewel for the draw.  Judging from the visitors’ messages on the sweetheart panel in our Say it With Flowers exhibition, the thatched Tudor cottage with its glorious garden, orchards and woodland is a magnet for romantics of all ages.  Whether their passion is for gardens, Shakespeare or their other half, one lucky winner is going to have a dazzling piece of diamond jewellery forever to remind them of Anne Hathaway’s Cottage in Jubilee June.”

All visitors to Anne Hathaway’s Cottage (aged 18 years or over) may enter the prize draw, which will close on 30 June.  The competition will be drawn on 2 July and the winner notified by telephone on 3 July 2012.  For full terms and conditions click here.
