A pre-performance talk examining the literary and historical context of your chosen play and its performance history. This hour long talk can be delivered at the Shakespeare Centre, or Hall’s Croft prior to seeing your chosen performance at the Royal Shakespeare Company. Enjoy exclusive access to a selection of the precious treasures held in our Library and Archive.  View early editions of Shakespeare’s works and original documents relating to Shakespeare and his family.  Also displayed are production photos, prompt books and multi-media materials from the Royal Shakespeare Company theatre archives.  This is an addition not to be missed to any visit at the SBT.

Shakespeare’s Will                 From £7.06 pp

A talk outlining the facts, problems, rumours and reality surrounding Shakespeare’s final document – his will. Was the ‘second best bed’ a good thing or an insult for Shakespeare to leave his wife, Anne? Why don’t we know what books Shakespeare had in his inventory? How much money did Shakespeare have when he died? What do we think we know about his relationship with his two daughters? All will be revealed in this interesting lecture.
