Adopt the Animals

Our animal families have real personalities and we are giving you the opportunity to get involved through our animal adoption scheme

Support our rare breeds and help keep alive a way of farming from Shakespeare's time.

Support the rare breeds at Mary Arden's Farm

Adopt the animals at Mary Arden's Farm and help keep alive the farming traditions of the Tudor period. The young William Shakespeare would have been familiar with many of the breeds we look after at the Farm today.

Find out more about the animals you can adopt.

When you adopt our animals we will send you:

  • An adoption pack including a certificate with a photograph of the animals
  • A voucher for a free visit to the farm to meet your farmyard friends. If you are under sixteen you can bring an adult in for free too
  • A leaflet giving you all the latest information about the fun events and activities happening at the Farm

And once your adoption has been activated you’ll receive:

  • Two farmyard e-newsletters, keeping you up to date with the latest news about the animals and events at the Farm and a Christmas e-card from your new friends

Experience life on the Farm as Shakespeare would have known it

Our animal families have real personalities and at the Farm you can get up close and spend time getting to know them. You can visit your chosen animals, step back in time to the 1570s and experience what life was like for a farming family when Shakespeare was a boy.

Together with the other adopters you will be helping to supply feed, bedding and veterinary care to the very special families of rare breeds and other animals at the Farm.
