Become a Patron

Our Patrons play a crucial part in protecting our unique collections and offering thousands of people a unique insight into Shakespeare’s work, life and times.

As a Patron of the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, your support will make a significant and lasting difference.  There are four levels in the Patron scheme, following William Shakespeare's extraordinary life story, from the son of a humble "Glover" to the "Sweet Swan of Avon" immortalised by Ben Jonson in his eulogy to Shakespeare. Your patronage is acknowledged for one calendar year from the date of joining, and benefits include:

Glover - £500

We will keep you informed of the work made possible by your support, and invite you to join us for occasional events throughout the year, such as exhibition openings, talks and performances at the Shakespeare Family Homes.  You will also be automatically enrolled as a Friend of the Trust and benefit from Friends' discounts at our events, cafes and shops.

Upstart Crow - £1,000

All the Glover’s benefits plus we will contact you with opportunities to see behind the scenes and meet with key staff delivering the projects made possible by your support.

King's Men - £5,000

All Upstart Crow’s benefits plus we will invite you to join the celebrations in Stratford-upon-Avon for Shakespeare's Birthday by joining us for the Birthday Parade and luncheon.

Sweet Swan of Avon - £10,000

All King's Men benefits plus we will invite you to designate your donation to your own specific area of interest.  Your contribution will be publicly recognised and you will receive regular bespoke reports on the impact of your support and an invitation to see your donation in action.

As a Patron you will be part of an inner circle of supporters, playing a very significant and valued part in helping the Trust deliver on its mission.  You will be deeply involved in our plans to protect the historic Shakespeare properties and collections for future generations, and in our work to reach out to diverse audiences to engage creatively with Shakespeare.
