Birthplace 2012 Appeal
Thousands visit Shakespeare’s Birthplace each year but they miss seeing our many treasures which are currently kept in storage because we don’t have the right cases and conditions to display them.
This rare early edition of Ovid's Metamorphosis, one of Shakespeare's primary sources, is one of the items we hope to put on display.
A chance to display the treasures
Now, thanks to a grant from the DCMS/Wolfson Galleries Improvement Fund, we have the chance to display some of these treasures to visitors for the first time. It will help fund the secure cases and other items needed. But the grant will only pay for 75% of the cost.

We urgently need to raise the additional 25% needed to unlock the grant. Every £1 you give will unlock up to £4 of funding. If you are a UK tax payer and can gift aid this rises to £5.
