Shakespeare at the Wilderness school
To celebrate the millennium the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust encouraged schools and drama clubs all over the world to send in examples of the shakespeare they were doing, over 50 submissions were received and they are carefully archived in our collection. But we thought it would be fun to see how Shakespeare has changed in the 12 years between now and then. So we wrote back to the Wilderness school in Australia and asked if they could share both their original submission and an example of what they are doing now. The video in this post shows their excellent current work and in the next post I will share their first submission ...
Of this piece Roger Masters from the Wilderness School explains "This piece is set in the 1970's with disco music in Orsino's world and hippy music in Olivia's world. This production was staged in the Odeon theatre in the Adelaide suburb of Norwood and was a sell out"
