Shakespeare's Birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon has been welcoming visitors for over 250 years. This fine Tudor house is where the dramatist was born and it offers visitors a tantalising glimpse into his early life.

Also in our care is the farm where Shakespeare's mother Mary Arden grew up, the cottage where he courted his wife Anne Hathaway and two fine Tudor houses connected to the Shakespeare family.

We are currently excavating the site of New Place, Shakespeare's family home from 1597, where we believe he wrote some of his works and where he died in 1616.
