On these pages you will find information about the various different events and types of events and activities that the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust runs throughout the year.

So whether you are planning to visit Stratford-upon-Avon and would like to know what's on, whether you're looking for something to entertain the kids in the holidays or you just fancy a day or evening out doing something a bit different then we're sure to have something coming up that appeals to you.

Some of the activities and events of the Shakespeare Birthplace TrustAll our events fit into broadly four categories: 'Celebrations and Festivals', 'Families', 'Learning' and 'Shakespeare Aloud'. the symbols below appear throughout this site and will tell you which of the above categories a particular event fits into.

Celebrations and Festivals icon- Celebrations and Festivals: these are events such as the Poetry Festival, Shakespeare's Birthday and public holidays.


Families and Children icon- Families: these events are principally aimed at children and families, although adults are sure to enjoy them too!

Learning icon- Learning: these events of an educational, historical or literary interest and appeal to those interested in attending talks, lecture and study days, for example.

Shakespeare Aloud! icon- Shakespeare Aloud!: these events are suitable for all and are about bringing Shakespeare off the page and onto the stage, whether that stage be an outdoor play, a room in one of the Shakespeare Houses, or in the beautiful Shakespeare gardens.
