Demonstrations

A costumed guide demonstrates sheep-shearing in Tudor timesAt Mary Arden's costumed guides known as 'period interpreters' run Palmer's Farm, on the same site as Mary Arden's House. As they go about their daily life on the farm they demonstrate the different skills and tasks involved in maintaining a Tudor farm.

In addition every day the men on the farm can be seen cutting firewood, and on wet-weather days you can see them threshing and winnowing or cutting firewood under cover.
