In the lead up to the first previews of David Tennant’s Hamlet this week, it seems that the sheer excitement all got a bit much last night, when vandals broke into the Shakespeare Birthplace Gift Shop!

The Shakespeare-crazed thieves caused some costly damage and broke several of the leaded windows in their plight to steal some irresistible Hamlet Souvenirs. Unfortunately, given the small size of the windows, the vandals were only able to make off with 3 copies of the ‘Miniature Shakespeare Book’ - Hamlet…

Perhaps given the recent seizure of a £15 million First Folio in Washington DC last week, we can expect these £3.99 works of genius to re-emerge in years to come!
