The theatres in London in Shakespeare's day included: The Theatre, Curtain, Fortune, and Red Bull - north of the city boundaries; the Rose, Swan, Globe, Hope and Newington Butts to the south, and Blackfriars within the city. Of these theatres Shakespeare at one time or another was associated with The Theatre, Curtain, Rose, Swan, Globe and Blackfriars.
