Ninety of these are records of stage productions worldwide, making it probably the most-performed play. However, there are records of 88 productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream in the same year, and it has had more major productions by the Royal Shakespeare Company than any other. Hamlet is also the most-quoted play, with 208 entries in the Oxford Dictionary of Quotations.
