Lectures, Workshops and Outreach Work
We offer individual lectures and workshops on plays in the RSC repertoire, on any of Shakespeare's plays and other dramatists. We are also renowned for our lectures on the Performance History of Shakespeare's plays. If you would like to book an individual lecture or workshop, please telephone or e-mail the Education Department.
THE SHAKESPEARE HOUSES
The five Shakespeare Houses in and around Stratford-upon-Avon (Shakespeare's Birthplace, Anne Hathaway's Cottage, Mary Arden's House & the Shakespeare Countryside Museum, Nash's House & New Place, and Hall's Croft) are owned and preserved by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust and each is a museum in its own right.
Each house acts as an educational resource which offers the chance to experience the Stratford world of the famous dramatist and poet William Shakespeare. The properties have their own fascinating story to tell. Our well-informed and friendly guides are on hand throughout your visit to answer questions, lead tours and offer greater insight into Shakespeare, his world and his work.
We welcome visits by school parties. One member of staff is admitted free with every 10 students or pupils. School pupils are charged at the child rate. A preliminary visit is available free of charge for one teacher per school. Education work might include interactive history classes, creative sessions and arts projects.
For further information on group visits please telephone +44 [0]1789 201806/201836. If you are interested in background lectures, creative classes or workshops to accompany your visit please contact the Education Department on +44 [0]1789 201805.
